Just the Beginning...

Among the many who visited the Exhibition, some who are responsible for organizing artistic events have expressed a desire to discuss the possibility of my work being shown in other prestigious venues in future.  Imagine my delight in knowing that my fascination with and passion for photographing reflections has received such accolades!

How it all started....

When I was kindly invited to participate in a local art exhibition with three of my artist friends, I had no idea where it would lead.  For many years I have been taking reflections in water, glass and metal and of course have built up an extensive collection of both abstract and semi-abstract images.  Always having a camera with a powerful telephoto lens with me, I have been able to capture the unexpected and the stunning , and I have had great joy in seeing the unusual and the beautiful.

After much encouragement and enthusiasm among my friends, especially those who are artistic, I finally put together a selection of my work, traditionally framed, choosing to exhibit those that represent its considerable variety. However, very soon I discovered the astonishing new process of direct printing on brushed aluminium, and I quickly realized how eminently suitable it is for my images.  So.... that became the focus of my part of our exhibition, and it has been very exciting for me to introduce all our visitors to this spectacular technique.

The Visitors....

I would like to thank all of you who visited the Exhibition, both for the Opening and during the following three weeks. It was such a great pleasure to see so many supportive and interested friends and also to meet so many delightful new people.

With over a hundred guests, delicious hors d'oeuvres and much wine, the Opening was a tremendous success. I was at the Exhibition every day for its three-week duration, and during that time I talked with so many from around the world.  Being at the centre of an international community and also attracting a great number of tourists, Mijas is an ideal venue for exhibitions.  The town hall gives great encouragement to local artists, and my thanks go to the splendid team there, who did so much for us.

Special Mention and Very Many Thanks....

To my wonderful friend, Anne, who, as an accomplished artist and teacher, is an inspiration to many.  She it was who not only encouraged me to “come out” but also made it happen by inviting me to participate in the Four Visions Exhibition.
And....
To my husband Mike, my partner in this enterprise.   Without his unfailing support, his tremendous help all along the way, and his indefatigable persistence, my images would never have emerged from their slumber for the greater enjoyment of others.
